Dr Lauren Thompson

Dr. Lauren Thompson was first exposed to chiropractic care when she was thirteen years old. She was having growing heel pains and felt off balance at practices as a competitive gymnast. After experiencing the impact chiropractic care had on her pain and performance she knew she wanted to research further into this healthcare profession. Multiple interviews with chiropractors in the Bay area and more research led her to pursue a career as a chiropractor.

Dr. Lauren received her Bachelors of Science in Systems Physiology, and a minor in Chemistry at San Jose State University. She then began her chiropractic journey at Palmer West College of Chiropractic, San Jose. She is RockTape, Gavilon, and Webster technique certified. She finished her last year of school working on active military men at the Navy Base Hospital in Lemoore as part of the Department of Defense Program.  She is certified in a 100 hour course in Applied Kinesiology. Dr. Lauren is one of only 200 doctors in the world to be Cranial-Facial-Release certified, being a CFR Elite doctor.

Dr. Lauren’s goal with treatment is to individualize for the needs of each patient. She begins by properly assessing and examining each patient’s unique patterns and habits before personalizing a specific treatment and at home therapy plan. When not at the office, Dr. Lauren enjoys hot yoga, pilates, dancing, hiking, and training for half marathons.

Dr. Ally Cook completed her master’s and doctorate degrees in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Five Branches University in San Jose. She is a licensed acupuncturist in the state of California. She specializes in the treatment of pain and injury, digestive issues, women’s reproductive health, stress, mood and sleep disorders.

Ally utilizes a variety of needling techniques, including pulse balancing, abdominal acupuncture and Master Tung. Each treatment depends on the interests and needs of the individual, which may include acupuncture, acupressure, cupping, breath work, moxibustion, massage, facial acupuncture, medical qi gong, gua sha, acupuncture with electric stimulation, herbal medicine and supplements. Ally provides diet and nutritional counseling, lifestyle and exercise recommendations tailored to meet your unique needs. She also offers private yoga instruction.

An appointment with Ally involves a thorough intake to get to the root cause of the problem. Ally’s technique is gentle. Your comfort and wellbeing is her top priority, to ensure each treatment feels relaxing and healing.

Ally’s interest in East Asian medicine began while receiving acupuncture in her early 20’s. She became interested in studying traditional Chinese medicine shortly thereafter, particularly after reading Paul Pitchford’s book, Healing with Whole Foods. She felt aligned with this medicine through her interest in creating and promoting health, body energetics and using food as medicine. She continues to learn and expand her knowledge of the human body and experience to provide the best possible care and support for those that work with her.

Outside of the clinic, Ally enjoys teaching and practicing yoga. Some of her most joyful moments are spent outdoors with her dog, Stanley. She’s an avid trail runner, swimmer and weight lifter. She loves getting out of town and into nature to hike, swim and soak in hot springs. Ally’s first love was food; she grew up in the kitchen cooking alongside her mom. Preparing fresh, beautiful food and herbal teas are some of her favorite ways to unwind at the end of the day.
